Bill for power arrived and does not match the Phone APP!

WHAT IS GOING ON?  If I hide bill breakdown then I see one figure. If I open the breakdown I see another figure. Open PDF see another figure.    Who are these programmers who dont check their work and still have a job!  This seems a big stuff up to me and increases stress levels where there should be none, there is enough on how to pay bills!

Yes, it makes sense (sort of).

That difference would be your $75 rebate from Fed Govco.

It SHOULD be shown on your bill, but that I am not 100% sure about.

The 2 amounts should be showing as $382 to pay, but obviously don't.

 

I just noticed 2 payments of $75 to my account transactions (on the app), and I haven't yet had a bill SHOW the rebate as yet.

 

It could be that they don't show the rebate (on the actual bill), I had a discrepancy last bill paid in early August, but my last bill showed an amount total and I paid that, the higher amount.

The app had a different amount, and I can't recall that to see if it is $75 difference.

No rebate adjustment is showing on my last August bill, but will be getting another one in 11 days, so will see then.

Maybe i will have 2 or even 3 x $75 difference.

Yes seems some confusion between pdf and the APP.  

Thanks for telling me your experience. 

I will contact someone tomorrow and ask it to be checked and hopefully the lower amount is correct as that's what i am budgeting for!

I have the same issue. I already got a 75$ credit last month and I’m not due for one this soon. Somehow the AGL app is automatically subtracting $75 from the due amount and it shouldn’t be. The pdf/physical bill reads as it should, but I usually pay via the app. Hopefully they pick up on this and fix the error before people budget for the wrong amount.

I checked my phone app, the AGL web app logged into a/c, and last bill.

All show the normal bill amount, but the app before bill paid showed a lower amount, and of course that disappears when the bill is paid.

I paid the higher normal amount on the bill.

 

Seems my timings are such that for some reason, I had 2 differing amounts for last home bill, but the first $75 rebate showed up on my billing transaction history 5 days after my Aug 8th bill was due (showed up Aug 13th).

Now another $75 has showed up on 2nd Oct.

So technically, my last bill amount was right, but another amount due in the app window after the bill was issued showed a lesser amount, which I assume would have been $75 less. (It disappeared when the bill was paid.)

 

What my AGL website app account shows now is the Billing / Transaction history as . . .

This transaction history seems to appear only on the website account when logged in, not the phone app, some of you might like to log in on the website app, click billing, then check the transaction history, see what's showing for you, and the dates.

 

Next bill in 9 or 10 days time, I should have an actual bill that reflects $150 credit, then a balance due with that deducted.

The Aug 13th rebate was the first one that was received on my list.

 

We'll see if the bill is actually adjusted, expect so.

Yes that seems a reasonable explanation. Seems the govt bill relief entry is out of step with what agl pdf bill is and then the next amount happens to reflect online, but not in time for the pdf bill. 

Also the online amount has no ability to show the sections that lead to that total allowing some checking to be performed.  

All a bit of a mess really and paying the higher pdf amount is probably the way to go so as not to end up in the debtors court! 

Perhaps a cynic would say cleverly weighed in favour of the power co (for a time) but in a cash flow it probably amounts to a huge amount of money they save overall.

Yes it's odd @maxwelloau as my workshop power bills showed any govco relief rebates deducted on the bill.

Mind you, that's an old analogue meter setup, so maybe that makes a difference.

 

I think the 2 amounts I have showing on the home bill in CR will be showing on the bill, another 8 days or so will find out for sure.

Any delay is unexplainable . . . if AGL adjust the app due $ when a bill is due to reflect a lower amount, but it's not shown on any bill, or app overview, then AGL have the govco $ already, just not applied ?

You are right AGL stands to make some short term interest if this is happening across the board, nad rebate money is held over for either a glitch or as a company decision / policy.

Ok, end of month billing rolled over and latest bill received.

This latest home bill shows 2 x rebates applied, a net figure payable, and although the app overview showed the full amount up to last day of the billing period, all other billing amounts match the net figure with rebates taken off.

My Workshop account shows a single credit sitting there waiting for a final read for next bill (analogue meter).

 

Although these govco rebates are welcome, I wonder just how much more trouble the economy / country is getting into when things are getting that bad with cost of living that they have to help people pay basic bills !!

Update.: my bill was due and because I knew I wasn’t due for another 75 credit from the gov, I paid the the full amount via b pay so it wouldn’t come back and bite me. Well now it’s saying I have a 75 credit on my account because I had “overpaid”. What a mess. 

The way these things usually turn out is that AGL will catch the mistake months down the track, rectify it on their system and then automatically late fines will be handed out. Because there is no human element to them solving the problem there will be no taking it account that it was their mistake and people just paid as they did. And then it will be another 6 months to fix the late fees that were automatically rolled out.
