Hey @Nighthawk . I believe that's the reason it's locked down at the moment. Personally I'd love to see custom avatars available though. Definitely something we could look into as the community expands.
Sorry for opening an older thread, though given low post volume, I assume this would be okay.
How goes the quest to allow custom avatars? As the community manager I'd like to think you're best placed to advocate for this, especially if you personally buy into this.

I would have thought there would be mods to moderate any inappropriate pics. Generally if you place an inappropriate pic there would be a warning or ban of some sort. Most should know the rules of posting like in many forums.
@Panda@Nighthawk thanks for expressing your interest in this feature. It's definitely still something I'm in favour of switching on. I think more personalization is better. I'm looking at a bit of an overhaul to the community's appearance in the near future, so I'm going to make a note to include this as a possible addition.
