We’re excited to launch our new Battery Rewards Plan— an energy plan designed for customers with home batteries in NSW, QLD and SA who want to make the most of their stored energy.

By choosing to export energy back to the grid during peak times, eligible customers can earn up to $600 in Digital Visa Gift Cards.^ It’s our way of rewarding smart energy choices that support a more sustainable grid.

Unlock more value from your battery: https://www.agl.com.au/residential/energy/compare-plans/energy-offer?webid=BRPLAN

^Prepaid Digital Visa gift cards are allocated quarterly and value varies depending on kWh exported in certain peak times.  Earn a $10 gift card if you export between 1kWh and 50kWh and for every additional 50kWh an extra $10 will be added to the card value – up to a maximum of $400 each quarter.

@DJW . . .

Down the bottom in the things you should know compatible batteries and inverters.

Yes the above link is for VPP, but just t ocheck about the usual compatibility of the Sungrow inverters / batteries.

There are even less strigent requirements that come up when you bring up the Battery Rewards page . . .

In the elegibility criteria "Have a solar battery of any brand installed at the supply address"

Have you spoken to anyone at AGL, beyond the support front line ?

They can sometimes be limited in their knowlege base.

Maybe a tech dept type can assist more.

Thanks Lester. The problem appears to be with Sungrow, who I have communicated with a number of times.
Their support team stated  they are unable to program exporting to the grid as required by these plans.
They are “looking into it further” today and promised to email me by COB, but nothing heard.
AGL will be my next stop after NYE.
Cheers

Hi Basil, I've recently signed up to AGL Battery Rewards (and the VPP) where in the App or on your website does it show how may KW/H have been sold back to the grid between 6-9pm? Is there a breakdown anywhere or is this something that comes at the end of the qtr?

Hi @StevenG

Great to have you on board battery Rewards and the VPP, and thanks so much for your question! At the moment, the AGL app doesn’t show your Battery Rewards Plan export details (how many kWh were sent back to the grid between 5–9pm). We calculate all exports as part of your billing cycle, and at the end of each quarter you’ll receive a separate email with your total 5-9pm exported energy and your Battery Rewards gift card for the period.
