Questions and discussions about your electricity and gas meters, connections, disconnections and more
Why do you estimate my bill at $900 when from past usage it’s quite obvious that it is lucky to be around $200? It seems your estimating dept does not talk to billing dept

Hi @Thsel, we bill based on readings provided to us, and estimates that are provided to us by your Distributor are usually based on things like historical data, or averages for the area where data is not available. It can lead to those discrepencies you mentioned. Feel free to provide your own meter reading online, or through the app. Or you can reach out to us here so we can help you with it. Regards- Mark.
Could you please put your actual question here.
Having trouble working out what you mean.
If you mean a high bill and you have a meter reader and you were not at home at the time to let them in then an estimated bill would be created.
You must not have a smart meter.
Read the meter and then contact AGL via https://www.agl.com.au/help-support/contact-us# (clicking on this link will open a web page on the device you are using).
Either phone or use the new BOT chat...
Hi @Rebby
Thank you for your comment.
I'm sorry to hear that you had a frustrating experience when it comes to billing, sounds like you were getting some estimations which were higher than what you were using.
it is the distributor who do provide us with the readings/estimations as well as the reason as to why they weren't able to attend the site to read the meter.
If you have provided your meter reading this would have corrected the amount to your correct usage.
I can also suggest at looking at upgrading to a Smart meter to avoid having to have someone come read the meter.
Thanks, Chris
