No access to meter for self-read

I live in an apartment complex where individual tenants do not have access to the meter room, and after consulting my agent, have no way of gaining access except by hiring an electrician.

Am I able to organise a meter read via AGL?

Hi Aperfa17, a meter read should occur every quarter, if necessary we can organise a read to occur. Please get in touch via Messenger in My Account or the AGL App so we can assist further.

@Keithakam are you getting estimated bills ??

If not, you probably have a digital meter, mostly requiring no reading . . . unless there is no internet connection, then they are read like a normal old analogue meter).

Or, you have an analogue meter, and the AGL meter read contractor has been doing your reads ok.

Sometimes readings are missed, no access, dog present etc, and they estimate a bill based on past bills (usually estimates can be very high though !!), and next bill if a reading is done it sorts itself out to the latest actual reading (and you get a lower bill).

All meters within the National Electricity Market (NEM) states are supposedly mandated to be changed to digital by Nov 2030.
