Questions and discussions about your electricity and gas meters, connections, disconnections and more
Can someone help me understand the Landis & Gyr CM170xdf6 meter? This is something I have now come across in South East Queensland.
This is a type of "basic meter"; it is a dual cyclometer meter with the top cyclometer labelled "D" and the lower cyclometer labelled "N".
Does "D" stand for Day and "N" stand for Night, or is there a more subtle meaning to these labels?
In other words; is it correct to say "D" equates to "Peak" and "N" equates to "Off Peak" ?
To the right of each cyclometer there appears to be an indicator window that, I'm guessing, shows either a white or a black 'flag' depending on (more guessing) the positioning of an internal relay that indicates whether accumulated energy usage is, at the time of observation, being measured by the "D" or "N" cyclometer. Are these guesses about the 'flag' indicator correct?
If there is in fact an internal relay that operates as above, then does it operate in response to ripple signals sent by Energex? If so, with reference to the current Energex Network Tariff Guide 2025-2026, which Energex Tariff Code(s) and Charging Time frame(s) is it capable of responding to?
Thanks for any constructive replies in advance š
