Gas working but status is 'connection in progress'.

My gas was set to be connected on the 29th of January. The gas is working but both the app and browser says that our connection is in progress. This means I am unable to check the usage or pay any bills.

Hi @KaitlynM - thank you for reaching out.

I can understand your confusion, but this is likely not an issue, just a delay in AGL receiving the gas meter reading.

The gas distributor has likely already attended, taken a reading from your meter and turned on the supply, but is yet to report that first reading to AGL, as they have 21 days to do so.

With gas usage, as the meter is manually read, you can't actually track usage through the app anyway, as we only get an update on your usage on the bi-monthly or quarterly reading schedule.
If the app is still showing in progress, after the 20th of February, get in touch with us, and we will follow up the reading with your gas distributor.

Kind regards,
Xander

I have successfully had my electricity connected as soon as possible with AGL after applying for its account transfer from another provider.  However, I have been waiting for the Gas Connection with AGL for 6 months or so.

I understand that the access to my gas meter is fenced off, thus. However, if the electricty meter had same situation, but it has been well done, why could the gas meter not successfully be read.  I made an appointment (s) for the inspector on such and such a day as the preferred, but to no avail.

I am afraid that such an extensive delay in taking over from the previous provider might keep building up the bills beyond my capacity to pay at last, then I can't afford it.   Can you please me what is your solution?

Once you are connected on the AGL system. You will be able to see your information on the app. In the app there is a section that you can enter your gas meter reading and that will recalculate your estimated bill for that period. Enter reading anytime in that bill period.
