Terminating Bill Smoothing

At the moment, I am in credit over $1,500 with AGL and have decided to cease bill smoothing and return to  regular as my preferred way to run down my credit  I had investigated other options - such as reducing my monthly Bill Smoothing payments but they will only be reduced by 10%.  It is quite difficult to terminate bill smoothing - you cannot do it yourself - despite the website suggesting that ...

I got a call from 02 8229 5702 claiming to be AGL and to check my Plan, I didn't answer any questions they "checked" and said I was on the best plans. Is this a scam or really from AGL.

AGL cut my Internet without notifying me. Waiting for 12th day already.

I don't know why AGL cut my Internet since last Monday. I talked to over 10 AGL agents but no use. Even, I talked to AGL compliant team (called Expert team) but still the same. Who from AGL can help to resume my Internet?

Direct Debit Bill and Payment

My electricity account was direct debited today 3rd March 2025.However, no email to tell me what it consists of - just the total amount shown on my bank account. Go to the AGL website to view it - not there. In fact AGL website shows the last one that was paid by direct Debit, but still says it has to be paid.Has AGL stopped sending emails?Why is the website one month out of date?I'm in Melbourne.

When should I switch from AGL to different provider to avoid delay?

Hello, I've just switched to AGL and the three month billing cycle has just started on the 20th of June. I intend to switch to a different provider around about the start of September.  What is the best date to initiate transfer? I don't want the switch to be delayed and/or attract exist fees.

Cheque delivered, how am I suppose to use it?

Hi, got an unexpected queue from agl with what looks like the remainder of the QLD Gov cost of living payment, not sure why it didnt remain as credit. Also wondering how I'm suppose to use it when my bank no longer processes cheques? Anyone had a similar experience and or solution?

Feed in tariff wrong?

My FIT (in SA) is supposed to be 10c/kWh for the first 10 kWh and then 4c/kWh thereafter. The AGL app shows for one day, I sold 13.61 kWh but only got paid $1.00. Shouldn't I have been paid 10c * 10 kWh + 4c * 3.61 kWh = $1.14? Every day is similarly wrong.

Velocity Bonus Points

Hi, I signed up to AGL on the 29/6/24. There was a Velocity bonus points offer if I signed-up before the 30/6/24 where I would receive 20K points for electricity and 10K for Gas. However, I've only been credited 10K for electricity and 5K for Gas?!

Time of day tariffs

My new rates table that will come into force on May 13th this year shows a Low Season Demand rate of 0.00000 between 2pm and 8pm on working week days during 2 x 2month periods during the year. Does this really mean that I will not be charged anything for power during these times?

Night Saver EV Plan Charge Error - Refund Required

Agl overcharging demand tarrif

Hi, I think I have been overcharged my demand tarif for the jul-aug billing period. My bill states 2.12kw usage during demand times. My usage is sent half hourly, so for a 2.12 kw, I would have to have used 1.06kwh in a 30min period. I searched my usage history and I could only find 0.35kwh on 30th July and 0.45kwh on 13th July. Will I get $100 credit if the plan is changed straight away?

I am hoping to get the $100 promo credit by signing up to the netflix plan and hoping to change it to the EV plan as I was told the EV plan is not included in the $100 promo. Bill smoothing payment way too high.

My bill smoothing payment started at $300 a fortnight, but then we were accumulating an additional balance because the payment was too low. Have called 6 times over the course of two weeks, each time the call ending with a promise that they will call back. Why is AGL’s customer care so bad?

I joined AGL today to write this article.
My wife is an AGL customer. Our home uses AGL for energy.

I think I would be legally right by stopping payments until your company can show me that I actually owe money to you .
