Questions and discussion about solar, batteries, and electrification
It's been at the status quo for a long time now @Djq
It'd certainly be in the interests of AGL and consumers if this was being prioritised.
There are a load more good quality batteries now along with their approved Tesla, Solaredge, and LG.
Sungrow HV batteries might also be compatible.
Also, a big addition to battery brands is inverters that are compatible.
At the moment Tesla PW2/3 is fine, but for others a suitable Solaredge inverter is also required.
I'm hoping AGL are also working on more flexible FITs, now that there will soon be a LOT more batteries coming into the market.
The current VPP offers are far from attractive.
There are PLENTY of retailers interstate now beginning to offer FITS for early morning and peak late pm / evening that are very sweet, sure nothing is offered at times during solar soak, but then you are using you solar in the home and charging a battery in those hours.
If AGL don't address the compatibility of batteries, inverters, and expanding FIT offers very soon, they will see people leaving as more and more batteries come online, and people look at solar / battery market offers.
This includes wholesale type offers from the likes of Amber, LocalVolts, Flowpower, no doubt we'll see these expand significantly.
Hi,
Thanks for reaching out.
Yes, we are currently in discussions with additional battery brands to expand our future product line, including options with varying capacities. However, at this stage, we don’t have a confirmed timeline for when these will be available.
We appreciate your interest and recommend keeping an eye on our website
Please feel free to reach out if you have any other questions.
