Solar credits

Just starting the process of installing Solar. The system I am installing will cover all bills including supply charge.

I am curious if, as I have both Power and Gas with AGL, can excess credits be used toward the payment of the gas bills?

Hi @Mark123 , it certainly can, although at this stage you'll need to shoot us a message each time you want to make the credit transfer from one account to the other. The ability to do this yourself directly from My Account is a popular request, and it's on the roadmap to be added, though I don't have a timeframe to share just yet.

Hi Mark,  Unless you are a single person living in a well insulated residence,including double glazed windows, and not using any appliances after 2pm,then you may be ok.

Otherwise you may be in for a bit of a shock when you get your next bill. I am now in the process of looking into disconnecting our solar system, it’s now a waste of money. Cheers

This raises a few issues for me;

1/ Why reply to a Solved question from five years ago?

2/ Why is the answer is not relevant to the question?

3/ Why is your solar system a waste of money and how will disconnecting it resolve that?

Hi Mark,

My reply above was not accusing anyone of being an idiot. If you read my reply you may observe the @gleanni  at the top, which does indicate that this was a reply to that user. Their response, a long time after your question was resolved, seemed to not be relevant to that issue. In doing this I did not assume anyone was an idiot, instead I was trying to understand their concerns. That is the method I use in order to provide assistance. None of my post was aimed at you. No bandwagon here, just a small trap (forgive the pun)

I am reminded on the Buddhist  wisdom of the Pointed Finger.

When one points a finger at another, three fingers are pointing at yourself.
