It's a huge investment getting solar, then the battery is as much again in cost as a good sized solar system to manage efficiency to eliminate bills.

 

A BEV is another thing altogether, either very expensive for decent range, or limited in practicality to use around the suburbs for anything more modest in price ($40k ?) or really short surburban use with an older 2nd hand BEV (leaf / miev).

Hello AGL Neighbourhood, first time post, so LOTS of questions and I feel a lot to learn.

Any chance you could explain wtf some of this post actually means ?

For example...

"that shifts 10kwh of energy a day"

Does that mean exports 10KwH or combined usage and export?

 

"participates in 5 demand response events per month"

that line only conjures up images of being interrogated under bright lights....
