Questions and discussions about your electricity and gas meters, connections, disconnections and more
Hi,
Go to your meter box.
The NMI number is written on the meter box.
You won't need an account number until the solar has been installed and billing is ready to commence.
The account is linked to your NMI number anyway, the meter itself may even needed to be upgraded in which case your NMI number will be changed.
@patinyot . . . it's possible that site only compares options if you have a smart meter, and the data is then available to compare various retailers and plans very specifically to your meter data.
It might even need 2 years data, that's what the energymadeeasy.gov.au site needs for accurate assessments.
I just checked the Victorian Energy Compare site FAQ link, and it says . . .
"For electricity offers, the fastest and most accurate way to do this is to access your smart meter data by providing your National Metering Identifier (NMI) number from your energy bill when starting the comparison process. Your NMI is a 10- or 11-digit number, which begins with the number 6 and can usually be found at the top of the second page of your electricity bill."
It's possible that site can't work with old analogue meters, if that's what you have.
If you have a smart meter, check the bill NMI and NMI on the meter and try again, it should also be shown on that.
10 or 11 numbers staring with a 6.
