How is it that my electric hot water that is on off-peak (tariff 31) is 74% of my bill??

@TKO so many variables, and questions.
Perhaps with some AGL input (as they know your account details) you can work through it, but is it impartial and a complete picture of your problem ?

74% of your bill is very high, you might have solar that reduces your normal usage, or your might be extremely frugal with other home power use.
Your HWS could be faulty too, especially if older.

Google says "AGL's Tariff 31 (commonly referred to as Super Economy or Night Rate) is an off-peak controlled load tariff available in Queensland (Energex network)"

Is this your local DNSP ? (power supplier in SE Qld)

Do you have solar ?
What brand, size, and how old is your HWS ?
