Hey there,
I’m sorry for the situation and I understand your frustration.
It is important that we bill you based on your actual usage where possible. However, if the meter reader is unable to access the meter and obtain a read, the bill may need to be issued using an estimated read. Once an actual meter read is received, your account can then be adjusted if the estimate was higher or lower than your actual usage.
To clarify, this does not mean AGL failed to raise a service request for a meter read. There is a difference between AGL not requesting a read and a read being attempted but not obtained because access to the meter was unavailable. In this case, the issue is that the meter read could not be obtained due to access restrictions.
You are welcome to provide us with a current meter read if you are able to access the meter. Otherwise, the bill can be adjusted, if required, after the next scheduled meter read is successfully completed.
I hope this clarifies the issue,
Kindly,
Mia.
