I have changed energy provider. Apparently I have a credit with AGL (according to an email message yesterday). I would like this refunded, p[ease.

I followed the very vague instructions. The chat person gave me an email (payments@agl.com.au) to send ‘proof of payment’ and account details to.
First, I don’t know what ‘proof’ they are looking for?
Second, I’m not comfortable sending my account details and ‘proof’ to a generic email address.
Third, why does AGL not have this information on it site?
Very frustrating.
Can anyone assist please?
