Questions and discussion about AGL's Energy plans and your AGL Energy account
On that info, no one, not even AGL, is able to work out the bill discrepancy.
Power HAS gone up a lot, but tripling is hard to imagine.
Firstly, check your bill(s).
Are they estimated reads for some reason ?
Those can be wildly higher from my experience.
Have you checked your meter readings vs those shown on the bill(s) ?
Have your habits changed, new appliances, your tariff changed, or have you had a new digital meter installed ?
Hi Meljane, Thanks for reaching out. There are a few ways to track your usage. It is especially easy if the property has a smart electricity meter. Alternatively, you can enter your own meter reading through the AGL My account to stay on top of your usage. I'll send you a private message shortly to discuss further. Cheers, Deepesh
Do you have copies of your past bills?
If so look at the rates you were paying in the past and currently.
Compare the kWh rates for the various times
Check what the daily charge was and is now. (This is often overlooked)
What Solar Feed I Tariff did you have then and now?
Lastly check if your consumption has changed. I suggest dividing the total consumption by the number of days to make both bills a daily average.
Make sure you also check for use in the same season as heating and cooling can increase consumption.
Log onto your account and see what you are paying.
LesterT is paying $1.09 for supply charge.
I think Caban is paying around $1.69.
Look at your other charges and adapt to using power at cheaper times.
