Monthly billing

How the hell can AGL make a decision to change my billing to monthly without my authority, and then remind me that if you miss a payment the $12.00 late feel will be charged, EACH MONTH....this is a back handed way to money grab from those that can probably least afford it.....I am going to refer this to ASIC, I think that they will agree with me.

I have logged on to see if I can opt out, and guess what ....I cant.

I have been a customer with AGL since I can remember at 3 properties, looks like I will be looking for a new supplier.

Lots of this on the forum since it was started to happen sometime in early 2023 it seems.

My thread from April 2024 . . . https://neighbourhood.agl.com.au/t5/Energy-Accounts-Plans/Deciding-bill-frequency-for-the-customer-n...

If you don't see the option on your account to change back, you can apparently still do so by calling and requesting staying quarterly.

Yes, it's a bit of a pain to have to do that.

Yes, they should ask for opt in, rather than just doing it and making people opt out.

I’m glad in a way that others have the same thoughts as I do about AGL deciding the bill smoothing for us - with no consultation. Agreed, there should be an online way to change it back to what suits us - THEIR customers. Trying to call the Philippine call centre is painful!
