Ray,

AGL can supply the numerical data used to plot the graphs in "Understanding your usage and export".

To start with you can download your meter data from your ZIP file  available from "your usage" page on the web or app.

However this is hard to decode and not really useful to you.

You can request from AGL your data (up to the last two years) in a NEM format file.

AGL document Electric Metering Data Made Easy (click on this link to download the document), this document explains the format of NEM format files and also how to read your bill.

To obtain the actual NEM format file, click on this link,  Request NEM metering data , this will open up a web page for you to get the necessary request forms.

The blue line for energy usage is your combined daily usage imported from the grid.  The PURPLE line is your total daily exported data.

Solar data is your exported data for each day.

You can calculate your usage of the solar by downloading the daily solar production from your solar system and comparing that with your daily exported data.

For instance the above is from my Electric Used spreadsheet for April this year.

Of course I do not request this data from AGL, being a computer programmer I download the data from the zip file and make that into the NEM format file.

I then use another programme that I then convert into a more usable result.

All that takes less than one minute from start to finish.

Hope this helps

Cheers Neil

Hi Neil,

Whilst I am grateful for your time to respond, I am very disappointed to learn that YOU ARE NOT AGL and are unable to interrogate their data to provide specific answers to my questions!

Naively, I thought my request would only require a simple, direct response from AGL, not a trail blazing 'map' for me to fish it out that would test my limited computer skills.

Apology for for my negativity which should be directed to AGL

Cheers,

Ray

Hi @spencer3

Thank you for your question.

@NeilC provided aa fantastic and highly information response on how you'll be able to get an in-depth view of your usage.

If wanting the basics, the blue line in the chart shows your monthly energy usage, A purple line will appear if you are exporting any solar.

If you want the numerical values you can request NEM metering data to get a full breakdown as mentioned by NeilC

Thank you, Chris
