3 Free hours of Energy

The idea of free three hours of energy to use the abundance of mid day energy. But to many variables. How about this idea 💡 

When the Retailer is experiencing an abundance of energy which is creating negative prices, develop something similar to Peak Energy Rewards but in reverse. So you are incentivised to use more energy with zero usage charges within 1 to 4 hours. With the communication similar to peak energy rewards.

Matt from AGL seems to have missed my Idea and concentrated on stating AGL already have a 3 free hour plan. My suggestion was How to Implement the Plan. This seems to have been passed by.

I used AGL chatbot and asked the same of the consultant and they said it will be implemented tomorrow and AGL will know more.... hmmmmm not a great response from AGL.  Let see what @matt_AGL reverts on "Solar Sharer Offer - SSO".

Most of the media coverage says that the 3 for free will be available in South East Qld. Why is it not??

If you are referring to the Solar Sharer Offer, that is different to the Three for Free plan. 

If wanting to swap to the Solar Sharer Offer, this is a plan that you have to Contact Us directly to do.

This seems to be the only place on the web that claims NSW hasn’t got the offer yet! Ive been on with a agl chat bot, and they tell me i can sign up, you have to change plans apparently.

Well im in NSW and ive just signed up, she tried to put me off by telling i wont get my feed in tariff (All of $20), as if that makes a difference.

Seems to me some people at AGL haven’t go a clue what’s going on, the web site wont even let me access the page of the deal ive just signed up to.

Hi @Tony101 

It's important to clarify that there are two plans that include the three hours of free usage. 

We have the Three for Free plan, which is only available in South Australia. And, the Solar Share plan, which is what has been publicised by media. 

You'll be able to find out information on these plans from our website, for both the Three for Free plan and the Solar Sharer.

If you wish to change to the Solar Sharer, you will need to contact our support teams directly to change the pan for you.

Apparently you missed my suggestion of how to implement the 3 free hours with out any plan change. You supplied information on 3 hours for Free PLANS. Maybe you should re read my suggestion again instead of the heading.

As there was a growing confusion across multiple sources regarding the plans available including the three hours of free electricity I wanted to clarify the difference. 

I appreciate your suggestion on having it run similar to the Peak Energy Rewards and have passed this feedback on. 

As mentioned by @matt_AGL we have more plans in the pipeline.

Another disingenuous rort from AGL.

I no longer live in my house. It's vacant, and has been for 12 months.

We have a fridge and automatic pool pump, scheduled to run 4 hours daily.

Thought I might take up the 3 hours free offer from AGL, scheduled daily from 11-2pm.

Apparently, after research with the call centre, if I change my plan to take advantage of the 3 hours free then my bill for next quarter will increase by $60.00.

You see, the 3 hours free cost to AGL is made up by an increase in kilowatt hour costs for the remaining 21 hours.

Appalling, to market 3 hours free as a bonus to consumers, when in fact it is likely to increase power costs per household.

What a disgrace.

When it comes to electricity and gas  I have found that nothing comes is for free every thing has a hidden price, a way for big organisations  to pay for those give away, you just have to open your eyes and look.
