Update to my usage page

When you look at MY USAGE page in app or web it tells you how many days left in your billing cycle.

This is mostly incorrect as it shows your number of days since your billing cycle started to the current date.

It should indicate the number of days from the start of the billing cycle to last date of the data in your download file.

The MY USAGE page should also show you the cost of supply for the same period.

If these are all correct you can use the NET USAGE plus the SUPPLY charge divided by the Actual days usage to give your daily cost.

Multiply the daily cost by the supply period to give the APPROXIMATE COST of your next bill.....

Or you could give the SEVEN DAY cost as well.

This SEVEN DAY cost could be used for people to make weekly or fortnightly payments into their AGL account.

Thus avoiding bill shock....

I am wondering would a electric instaneous unit be a better cost option , I have only been on full elec for 12 mths and my bills are so high for 1 person . I have short showers , I dont do washing daily maybe a couple of times a week and it's usually late at night . I do have cctv I'm wondering if that increasing . It's just crazy amounts I'm paying . Any ideas please .

@NeilC does your page look like this ?

AGL_days-to-go.jpg

Mine seems to be right for the 89 days period, but only after it downloads for the previous day.

@Itsmec you have a storage HWS now ?

They are quite economical.

CCTV, you mean a security camera ?

They don't use much, we must have a good dozen around the property and our overnight tick over for the home is reasonable, 770w or so, fridge / freezer and a lot of IT stuff going 24/7.

Apart from the times the HWS comes on, or EV is charging, we can't see any usage spikes in our usage line, so even if the fridge or freezer come on they must be very low draw.

Maybe get a power point meter, fairly cheap, they will tell you what an appliance is using.

Your HWS, if it comes on at night, you could take a meter reading before bed, and check agin first thing, that will give you an idea what it is using.
