Just wanting yo know where I can purchase special meter box lock
Solved Go to Answer
Hi! I've got 2 questions
1. I live in Broadbeach 4218. What meter lock can I use?
2. If I use this meter lock, do I need to manually advise AGL of the meter reading each month for the bills? That's what an AGL staff member is telling me (as pictured below), but I've never heard of this. My mum doesn't have to either after installing her lock. So I'm confused
Hi @Samieweng.
A meter lock can be purchased from an approved locksmith.
For a list of approved locksmiths in your area, please check Meter Locks - Energex and contact AGL to advise us once the lock has been fitted.
If you have a remotely read smart meter then you will not need to provide your own monthly meter readings, however if your meter needs to be manually read, it is recommended you still provide your own meter readings each month to avoid estimations in between your quarterly meter readings.
Kind Regards,
Nat

Hello @Camille2,
Thank you for reaching out!
A meter locked can be purchased from an approved locksmith.
Ausgrid use the EM locking system, this uses Abloy Protec locks that are available as padlocks. All master keys are protected by world-wide patents and cannot be duplicated without the correct authorisation. Universal master keys of these locking systems are restricted to Ausgrid staff only.
The full range of EM locking options, including master keying and multi-utility access, is available from Integrity Locksmiths and Security.
Fo all residential inquiries please call the EM Call Centre at Integrity Locksmiths on 1300 664 582.
Kind Regards,
Natalie
Are these providers locks able to be used? they were recommended as a supplier to another user on this thread and look to be half the price of Integrity Systems padlocks.
