AGL just LOVE to pass the buck.  Ive been passed around to 7 different people in the last hour!

ALL because AGL DO NOT have their own people who can install solar 'smart meters'!

We got solar installed, called AGL & were told to wait 4 weeks!!! to have the 'smart meter' installed.

We waited.  They were supposed to install today 19FEB25 & waited in their 7am to 5pm timeframe.

When the PLUS ES guy finally showed up he said he couldnt install as the house meter box didnt have enough room. He told us that houses in our area all had the same problem.  You would THINK that we could have been told about this EARLIER!!

So before PLUS ES guy left he just said, very 'who-cares', you have to call an electrician to re-do the meter box!!!!!

AGL DO NOT HAVE THEIR OWN PEOPLE TO DO THIS!  So now we have to waste even MORE time calling to get this done! Then call AGL back to see when they can come back to house to install!!!

WHAT A LOAD OF RUBBISH!

AGL should be able to do it all..........ALL!

If anyone knows of someone who CAN ACTUALLY HELP us please let me know...ANYONE!

Hello,

It’s frustrating to deal with the lack of coordination and communication from AGL regarding the installation of solar smart meters. Being passed around to multiple people and not getting clear instructions from the start is unacceptable. I understand your frustration with having to wait weeks and then finding out about the space issue at the last minute. AGL should take full responsibility and ensure a smoother process.

If anyone has recommendations for reliable electricians or service providers who can assist with this, please share!

Best regards,
James Henry

Its totally UNBELIEVABLE that an E N E R G Y company cannot provide EVERYTHING  you NEED for that energy!

Its basic business right?

I have been looking for licenced electricians who can do BOTH the solar smart meter install & re-configuring the house meter box.  Found one guy from CFORCE ELECTRICIAL & am waiting for a quote.

Will keep looking to see if there are any others who can help because AGL CANNOT DO THIS!!!!!!

Hi,

I’m truly sorry to hear about your experience. We absolutely don’t want our customers facing this kind of issue. Its the metering coordinator is handling the meter swap, but we’re more than happy to personally investigate this for you and get it sorted. We’ll reach out to you via PM to gather your account info and make sure everything is taken care of. Thank you for your patience!

Thanks,
SYED

This kind of puzzles me, as we had solar put in about 15 months ago, in South Australia.

AGL retailer for power before and after, SAPN (South Australian Power Networks) the state power supplier.

We didn't (*weren't supposed to) have to do a thing, the solar company was the ones that looked after all the background tasks like changing to smart meters, liaising with SAPN for grid ok, network info to have 2 way power to / from the grid, etc.

We just advised AGL we were getting solar on, and picked a plan.

* Now I say weren't supposed to have to do anything loosely.

After a week and a half of the system being installed, but not able to export properly (the old meter was winding back with solar, and up with excess usage as usual), I called SAPN and they didn't have anything booked in for us, so did so at the time, with some numbers off the solar peoples paperwork I had to give them.

The new meter(s) got installed, and then some minor tweaking by the solar co and we were on the 2 way comms for usage and solar feed . . . not properly, but that's another story !!

We never had to pay anything over the solar quotation, not sure if different in other states, or if that's changed in 15 months, or maybe there is some sort of charge built into the solar quote for metering change, but here power cos are offering upgrades to digital for years at no charge.

We might not have had to get digital meters reconfigured, as they were new, so glad I always refused upgrades as we might have had a similar issue.

Hopefully you can all get sorted out without too much cost, or maybe a goodwill type of offer from AGL.

Well thats a surprise!
WHY didnt the 7 people I spoke to yesterday KNOW that there was more I could do??
Maybe AGLs 'right' & 'left' hands should speak to each other so these things DO NOT happen again!
The amount of stress AGL has caused is unbelievable!
Thank you!
