Why I am facing poor internet?

I am just want to say that I am extremely disappointed with your provision of internet. I am experiencing frequent dropouts of service every day and having to reset my router at the most inconvenient times. I moved to AGL internet, as you have been our electricity provider for many years, and we have been happy with the service provided. I expected AGL to be our internet provider, not Southern Phone as I found out on our first account. I have phoned the internet provider number and been told that I need another device at an additional cost of $149 to secure my service. I believe that this device should be included as part of the service provided and not an additional cost to me.
