The following response from AGL was received following a complaint from me (via Solar Run Bendigo) that the Victorian Government Emergency Backstop program introduced in October 2024 may be responsible for my new Solar Panel installation being remotely shut down resulting in no Solar Panel generated power being sent to my home or sold to the Electricity grid:
QUOTE from AGL:
I have received a response from powercor, "I have investigated into the solar at this site and I can see the customer is exporting as per their approved amount.
Please note that the emergency backstop requirements do not have the ability to control the customers inverter or to turn it off. Our access is limited to adjusting the maximum kW capacity that the system is able to export to the grid.
This adjustment will only be implemented in rare instances during a minimum demand event.
Hope this helps and don't hesitate to reach out if you have further questions."
END QUOTE from AGL.
Following the second alteration request to powercor from Solar Run Bendigo (as a direct result of my complaint to Solar Run Bendigo (the company that installed my Solar Panel Inverter System in December 2024)) powercor sent me a the following text message on my mobile phone from eConnect. My complaint to Solar Run Bendigo was that my Solar Panels Inverter System installed in December 2024 had stopped supplying power to my home and to the Electricity Grid.
QUOTE from eConnect.
POWERCOR:
Alteration Request CR- xxxxxx, (withheld for privacy)
x xxxxxxxx xx xxxxxxxxx xxxx (my address withheld for privacy) has been completed.
END QUOTE from eConnect.
Upon receiving this message from eConnect, I immediately checked my Sungrow Inverter mobile phone app that shows me real time performance (electricity generation) of my Solar Panel Sungrow Inverter System.
The Sungrow Inverter mobile phone app now indicated that my Solar Panel Sungrow Inverter System was restored to full operation namely supplying power to my home and exporting power to the Electricity Grid.
AGL has responded promptly to my personal phone contact raising my suspicion that the total shutdown of my Solar Panel Sungrow Inverter System was due to the Victorian Government Backstop program as stated above.
My current dilemma is that eConnect has stated that the total shutdown of my Solar Panel Sungrow Inverter System was not caused by by the emergency backstop because "emergency backstop requirements do not have the ability to control the customers inverter or to turn it off."
Further to this, the company that installed my Solar Panel Sungrow Inverter System (Solar Run Bendigo) requested (during a phone conversation) I modify one of my previous posts to state that my Solar Run Bendigo Solar Panel Inverter System installation in no way was responsible or contributed to the fault or words to that affect.
