I have finally given agl the ars after having to use the ombudsmen to sort out they"re estimated back charges,NOW they have got ausgrid to change all the meters in our complex i imagine to smart meters,so, there should be no estimates.WELL i got a final bill which is an estimate for the same previous amount (less the dubious backcharge) well i WILL NOT BE GIVING YOU MONEY IN ADVANCE BECUASE YOU PEOPLE ARE TO TIRED TO WORK OUT THE EXACT AMOUNT AND THEN CHARGE ME.I am also looking into old bills which were all estimates, and when the ombudsmen stepped in they threw  out the extra charge then they and re-instated it in my last bill.I bieleve YOU OWE ME money from overcharging from at LEAST January this year, when you finally did do a read my usage plummeted.II WOULD NEVER RECOMEND AGL TO ANYONE

Hi @tightfit

I'm sorry to hear about the complications with your billing and the estimations that have happened.

There are many reasons why you might encounter an estimated bill, as you mentioned you have a digital meter, connection dropouts can sometimes occur when the interval data is being received. The distributor or meter data provider will provide AGL with an estimate for that interval based on historic usage.

I'm more than happy to have a look further into this for you, I'm going to send you a Private Message to collect further information. wee

Thanks, Chris
