Will I get $100 credit if the plan is changed straight away?

I am hoping to get the $100 promo credit by signing up to the netflix plan and hoping to change it to the EV plan as I was told the EV plan is not included in the $100 promo. Upon contacting them, I was advised to sign up to a normal plan and change it to the EV plan. But I don't want to stay on the normal plan until the credit is applied as it will cost more to charge my EV.

Has anyone actually done this and received the credit? I don't want to be staying on the normal plan for me to charge my EV as the rate will be 25cent/kw as opposed to 8cent/kw.

It appears you're considering signing up for the AGL Netflix Plan to receive a promotional credit and then switching to the EV plan to benefit from lower electricity rates for charging your electric vehicle (EV). AGL's promotional offers, such as the $100 or $200 sign-up credits, are typically tied to specific plans like the Netflix Plan and may not be available with the EV plan

@lunartemis so what AGL has to advise is 2 things . . .

Does the $100 CR get paid right away when signing up for Netflix plan ? and . . .

Can you change at any time after your plan CR is received ?

I have had a couple of CR's done where AGL has advised how it works, and they are fine for you to change plans, or opt out of certain 'deals' sometimes.

If the CR is paid on the next bill, rather than sitting in CR on your account, and you are on quarterly billing, you might have to wait for the current billing period to end.

Some CR's are applied to the account, some show up on the next bill.

It might be worth signing up for the deal, then change after first bill, but you need to be sure how the CR is applied, and when.

You might not get as much EV benefit versus waiting even a couple of months, the extra 17c / kWh to charge up is around 588 kWh to equal the $100 CR, so it depends on what charger you have.

We have a 7kw charger, so about 42kWh a night into the sons EV is possible, that would be 14 nights break even without bothering with the CR.

But if you have a granny charger, those are typically 2.3kWh or 3.2kWh (10amp or 15 amp plug), so they would give perhaps 13.8kWh or 19.2kWh respectively a night charge, gives roughly 42 or 30 days to match the $100 CR.

The above is based on charging nightly for the EV Night Saver cheap 6 hours 0000-0600, you might also decide not to charge some nights, so break even versus the CR could be a lot longer.

If you are on monthly billing, your benefit is much more appealing if the CR payment is made favourably.
