AGL Home profile doesn't match this situation of our account : a body corporate, responsible ONLY for external lighting 7-11pm nightly for which the cost seems very high @ $30pm

Home profile is a generic thing.


It takes in your complete costs including supply charge and electricity charges.


This is worked out as a daily average and then multiplied by the number of days in your billing cycle.


If you have a smart meter then they use "real time data" (even though it takes them three days to show the data), if you don't have a smart meter they use the last billing period to calculate your daily rate.


Depending on your plan and whether you have a smart meter you can calculate your projected costs easily by doing a meter read each day at the same time.


Are your lights activated by light sensitive switches or a timer circuit that switches on the lights at 7 and off at 11.


Depending on your location 7pm would not require the lights to be on in summer...
