Billing cycle being changed, Quarterly to Monthly.

AGL, who do you think you are ???

I get an Email from you people saying that "Due to you having a Smart Meter, we are changing your billing cycle from Quarterly to Monthly".

Well, this does not work for me and I wish to stay on Quarterly Cycles, but it looks like i dont get that option.

Furthermore, if I am late on payment, you will charge me a late fee - fair enough, but now this could happen 3 times as opposed to just once.

If i dont get an option on when my payment cycle happens, i will find another supplier.

AGL Energy have gone downhill over the last few years, But they could not care less.

Hi @Markh1 . . . this has been going on for probably 3 - 4 years, people on quarterly just being moved to monthly.

Seems to happen annually and not linked to smart meter install, but you should have the option to go back to quarterly.
At least you used to, might have changed ?

Try going to Billing > Payment options > All payment options > Bill frquency, see it there is a monthly / quarterly billing tick box you can hit to go back.
I recall there might have been changes, maybe you have to call them now.

You used to be able to do this in the app or website login, check around however you access this and see what you can find.

As Lester mentions, you are able to change your billing frequency. 

You can follow the steps provided, but we do also have the steps on our Energy billing options help article from our website.

Hi Lester,

yep, i did go into my account and into billing cycles, and your right, there used to be an option to change it back to Quarterly but that has gone.

I had to call them and voice my frustrations, but yes, they are able to restore my cycle to Quarterly from their end.

All is good now, until next year !!
