With quality and decent size solar and a battery, many households could be nearly bill free . . . it's more difficult in winter with low production and higher usage for most homes, and there are SO many factors that can affect what benefits a range of different households can get from the same system.
If @neilwc wants to share some info, it's possible to work through to a solution to his dilemma.
