trying to pay my bill using a credit card expiring 2027; payment is refused. I check with my bank and they advise the error is for past expiry date??? Payment gateway evidently has software errors (or maybe computer is too smart?)

Some systems check the expiration date, and if the month is at the end of the month or year, they might erroneously think the card has expired if the system isn’t correctly accounting for the full validity of the card.
