Questions, discussions and feedback about the AGL website, My Account page, and our online services
I received calls this afternoon claiming to work on behalf of AGL offering a switch to a newer cheaper plan. They did not seem professional and did not try to verify my identity first. I checked with AGL and no notes that these were legitimate calls. Be careful, don’t click on the link they say they will send you (I hung up before this happened). Scary thing is they knew my name and address the electricity is billed to!!
So if you would like the info, these are the two numbers that called me claiming to work for AGL
03 7045 5945
03 6185 3544

I got a call from this number today (07 3510 4910) and when I saw online that it was likely from AGL I called them back (I had been anticipating an offer to try get me back and was actually happy to see what they could offer me), there was an operator on the other end trying to share with me a cheaper plan because I recently moved away from AGL. The operator was very friendly and professional so I don’t believe it’s a scam line; perhaps the operator that someone else spoke to was just not doing a good job.
@Adelaide1 that number comes up fairly recently on the Reverse Australia website . . .

Posted on June 4, 2026I received a phone-call from 07 3510 4918, while I was driving, I picked it up and it sat there for about 20 seconds listening to me say "Hello?" before hanging up. When I finished driving called it back and received someone claiming to be "Michael from AGL" (We now have caller identification in Australia and I would assume a call from AGL would come up as AGL.) He asked for my full name and date of birth to confirm it was me, I was wary because of the number he was calling from and the nature of the call and declined and he hung up. Middle-East(ish) accent (Sounded Indian but could have been something else close to there.)
I googled the number and found a note from from 2 years ago claiming to have received a dodgy call from this same number claiming to be from AGL.
@Justaguy ran that through Reverse Australia and it seems it might be an AGL marketing number . . .

A few mention NBN sales calls.
It's still annoying getting these as consumers are probably (or should be) aware and cautious about these calls.
Perhaps official emails or letters would be better than cold calling on the phone in this day and age.
