Questions and discussion about solar, batteries, and electrification
Hi,
I am looking for assistance in setting up my Tesla PW2 to make sure it discharges between 5-9pm to match the VPP programme.
Energy → Settings → Utility Rate Plan → Time-Based Control
Super off peak 10-4pm buy 2c
peak - 4-9pm - sell 27c
What settings required to make sure it only discharges from 5pm?
Thanks

Steven, have a read on this solarquotes blog article . . .

Also googles AI response to > making a tesla powerwall 2 discharge to grid at a particular time

We have two powerwall 3 batteries and we cannot seem to feed in between 5-9 pm. We have both tesla and the installers scratching their hesfs
Hi, thanks for reaching out.
To align your Tesla Powerwall 2 with the AGL Battery Rewards/VPP peak export window, you'll generally want to use Time-Based Control and set your tariff periods so the battery sees 4pm-9pm as Peak and 10am-4pm as Super Off-Peak. Tesla should then prioritise saving stored energy for the higher-value peak period and begin discharging when peak rates start. For specific Tesla app settings and scheduling guidance, please see: https://www.agl.com.au/help-support/account-setup-management/scheduling-battery-times
If your Powerwall is still discharging before 5pm after setting the tariff periods, AGL can't adjust Tesla settings remotely, so it's best to contact Tesla Support or your installer to check the Powerwall configuration.
Thanks.
Mia.
