Confusion over electricity usage AGL vs my solar app

We recently installed solar panels and battery.

AGL shows the usage of grid electricity

While my elekeeper app shows that we did not use any electricity from the grid

Not sure why this is happening. AGL suppose to reconfigure our intelligent meter (this fellar from intellihub installed isolator), and I can monitor my app, that we not taking any from the grid.

Can somebody from the community suggest what is wrong?

Kind regards

Odd how it is only on those 2 days, the 1st and 4th of October.
Do you have an electric HWS ?
If so, it's likely this is on CL (controlled load) still, and that is metered separately, solar and battery will not have an effect on that.
It is odd that you'd expect that to come on every day though, not just the 2 days out of 5 shown.

When you click on the days in that graph, does it break down the time of day for usage, and if so is that in solar soak and / or old off peak times ?
If it could be the HWS, then you will see controlled load on your plan info.

I did a simple mod to fix this and happy to share if you let me know about the HW possibility.

Worth asking AGL for a please explain.

Don’t know why AGL can’t show how much solar you’ve generated that you have used.

They would have to know the data through your smart meter to calculate how much you drew from the grid, as per your discrepancy.

Hi,

I can understand why that would be confusing when your monitoring app and the usage shown by AGL don't appear to match.

There can be a few reasons for differences between third-party solar monitoring apps and the data that comes through your electricity meter.

Just for information, AGL receives usage data directly from your electricity meter. The meter records electricity imported from the grid and electricity exported back to the grid. It doesn't have visibility of how much solar energy your system generates, how much solar energy is used directly in your home, or how much energy is stored in or discharged from your battery. Those details are typically captured by your inverter or energy monitoring app.

Because of this, it's possible for the figures shown in AGL and your energy monitoring app to differ, as they may be reporting on different types of energy flows. If you're concerned that the meter configuration isn't correct following your solar and battery installation, it's worth contacting AGL so the metering setup can be reviewed. https://www.agl.com.au/help-support/contact-us#

Kindly,
Mia.

HWS - Hot Water System? No we don't, we have gaz heater. I do notice though, that in the morning when I check battery SOC status, it varies between 70 and 95%%, which tells me we use battery electricity or grid.
And nothing changed on electricity use.
Thank you for your kind response
