I have a smart meter and on my last bill the readings were estimated. Some were higher than the actuals. Why are the readings estimated? I understand that smart metering is supposed to be accurate.

There are a number of reasons why this can occur, most common is the communication failure meaning that some or all intervals for that billing period are missing.
