I want to formally dispute the $57.90 "Re-energisation" charge that appears on my latest electricity account
I believe I should not be liable for this charge for the following reasons:
- AGL disconnected my electricity supply on 24/05/2026.
- I did not request or authorise the disconnection of my electricity service.
- The disconnection occurred due to an error by AGL and AGL must accept responsibility for this mistake.
- As a result of AGL's error, I was required to contact AGL to have the issue investigated and my electricity supply restored.
- The costs associated with rectifying an error caused by AGL should be borne by AGL, not by me as the customer.
- It is unreasonable and unfair for AGL to disconnect my electricity service in error and then charge me a fee to reconnect a service that should never have been disconnected in the first place.
Given the circumstances, I request that AGL:
- Immediately remove and re-credit the $57.90 re-energisation charge from my account.
- Issue a corrected electricity bill reflecting the removal of this charge.
- Provide written confirmation that this billing error has been rectified.
