Digital Meters

Firstly, I have recently had PV Solar System installed.  With that installation my Electricity Meter was upgraded (or changed - I don't know) to a SMART meter.  Do I have to have a new digital meter installed?

Secondly, Is there any cost to install digital meter?

Thirdly, will my Solar PV system / Inverter need any modifications in order to install a digital meter?
