Put seniors on a good plan automatically

After spending a weekend sorting out my parent's gas bill I - which was very  high at $530, I noted that the gas bill had a note on it stating that my parents could save more than $400 annually if they went on a value plan. I do not understand why it is not possible to put customers onto such a plan automatically - it is quite difficult for elderly people to keep on top of plans and new ways of engaging and having to navigate these systems.   What stops AGL from making value paln pricing available as par for course i.e. by default to their senior customers?  Thank you.

AGL supply charges for electricity are rediculous, dont be so greedy. Spare a thought for all those people struggling with power bills Etc.

Putting seniors on a good plan automatically ensures their financial and healthcare needs are covered, similar to how sassa srd checking  guarantees timely access to grants like the SASSA 370.

@miaalice121 what has South African sassa srd got to do with Aussie power retailers ?

It doesn't appear AGL has any presence there.

I agree, Seniors should be on a good plan, and aged pension recipients are given rebates off power automatically once on that, you are generally not required to do any more to stay on this system.

The Seniors card(s) in some states is a little different, the AGL Seniors plan is not something that has an official government influence on, just over 60's can apply for a Seniors card and get some small perceived discount with some providers of products / services that offer little incentives.
