Sorry guys but your "10 minute" questionaire didn't cover all the ways we use energy in our house.
1. Hydronic hot water pipes in cement floor with 9 circuits to choose which to heat, operated from a Ferroli gas boiler in the garage. Greatest heat form ever. Just ask the Romans.
2. Lots of cooking done outside on the patio with a gas bbq so minimal cooking odours inside.
3 We have a Rumford (look it up) style open fireplace which is quite efficient vs rectangular like "boxes" in most such houses. And we generate enough firewood from our own trees in suburbia to at least get us thru the shoulder seasons apart from a few colder months.
