Why do some of your enegry plans sumbitted to the AER / Energy Made Easy site not conform to the Australia Energy Plan Data Standard.
Example

From PlanId",

  "electricityContract": {

        "type": "CONNECTION",

        "amount": "22.18",

      },

….
    ],
"meterTypes": [

      "Type 4",

      "Type 4a",

      "Type 5",

Hi @Kev

Thank you for your post, I'm not sure if you just copied and pasted information from another web page to clarify about the plans, but if so, the formatting has made the post hard to understand and not sure at which point you are trying to point out.

Can you please clarify further on what you are meaning.

Thank you, Chris

Thanks for reaching out.

I had raised the issue with AER – but they do not really get it.
Or really not interested.
I went to them first as they are providing the data via API.
First they said – old data the plans are not current, then they used the P!Y period to justify the 4000.

So I re-looked at the standards.

Then I searched and found the community – so posted there.
Happy to discuss this with you.
The data is taken from the energy-made easy APIs.
Spewcifically the Plan Detail

I believe that the data sent by AGL has invalid/incorrect values.
Specifically the tariffPeriod.singleRate.volume
The simple issue is that the volume is shown as 4000 with no unit of measure.
The default unit of measure is kWh.
I expect it is really 4kWh or 4000 Wh – but under the data standard it is 4MWh for a daily vlume.

Here are the some of planIds I believe have the issue.
"AGL907792MRE11@EME"
"volume": 4000,
"AGL15385SRE32@EME"
"volume": 4000,
"AGL15386SRE32@EME"
"volume": 4000,
"AGL1055639MRE4@EME"
"volume": 4000,
"AGL1055694MRE3@EME"
"volume": 4000,
"AGL1055692MRE3@EME"
"volume": 4000,
"AGL1055679MRE3@EME"
"volume": 4000,
"AGL1055674MRE3@EME"
"volume": 4000,
"AGL1055659MRE4@EME"
"volume": 4000,
"AGL1055690MRE3@EME"
"volume": 4000,
"AGL1055723MRE3@EME"
"volume": 4000,

Here are the details that I sent to AER for the latest set of plans with my reading of the data standad.

========================================================
Sorry to be a pain – but I’m a standards type of guy 😉.
The standard is quite clear on this.

Component definitions in bold
Important comments in Italics

The main thing is that the volume is kWh in the description (“The measurement unit of rate. Assumed to be `KWH` if absent.") - which could be overwritten in the measureUnits and that defaults to kWh.

An Example
From PlanId AGL15385SRE32@EME",
"electricityContract": {
"fees": [
{
"term": "FIXED",
"type": "CONNECTION",
"amount": "22.18",
"description": "May be charged when manually reconnecting or reading your meter when you move into a property or change retailer. Incl GST. Fees may vary."
},
….
],
"meterTypes": [
"Type 4",
"Type 4a",
"Type 5",
"Type 6"
],
"pricingModel": "SINGLE_RATE",
"tariffPeriod": [
{
"endDate": "06-30",
"startDate": "07-01",
"singleRate": {
"rates": [
{
"volume": 4000, <== Must the kWh = 4MWh
"unitPrice": "0.381002"
Comment ==== No measureUnit = kWh as default & definition for a rate.
},
{
"unitPrice": "0.381002"
}
],
"period": "P1Y", <== the period of the tariffPeriod
"description": "Peak",
"displayName": "General Supply All Time"

"displayName": "Single Rate Tariff Period",
"rateBlockUType": "singleRate",
"dailySupplyCharge": "1.636828",

Happy to discuss this any my reading of the data standards
I use the latest Energy Plan Data Standard schema.

I did try to post a longer reply using email but it failed.
