AGL connections scam

Hi, 

I received a call from (02) 8229 5702 claiming to be AGL, offering me a discount on my current energy and gas plan. They proceeded to read off a very long script of information which they proceeded to email me the details of through agl@connections.agl.com.au. At the end of the call they tried to convince me to switch to AGL internet and phone plans which I declined.

The emails they sent look very sketchy and different format to AGL's usual ones I receive. Unsure if this was real or a scam?

If you receive a call and you aren't sure if it is AGL or not, we recommend not giving out any personal details and calling us back on 13 12 45.
