Questions and discussion about AGL's Energy plans and your AGL Energy account
I can see you are in SA.
I suggest that you look at other plans.
For instance you can go to a Solar Savers Plan.
Residential Solar Savers
Solar feed-in 12 cents/kWh exported
For the plan that I think you are on:
Residential Flexible Saver Price summary
Solar feed-in 5 cents/kWh exported
Now without knowing your usage rates you would need to review your usage using your last three billing periods but applying the new rates.
Just because you get a higher solar rate does not mean that you will get a greater return.
I am on ( SA) solar savers. My average usage for my last bill was -
18.06 kW to the Grid and 4.43 kW taken from the grid:
The formula to get daily usage is:
Amount used in kW divided by the number of days in the billing cycle.
If you have a smart meter and every billing cycle is 90 days then you can simply
Multiply the amount used by the cost (in dollars) for each kW used or generated
Solar Savers | |||
KW p/day | Cost | ||
Generated | 18.06 | $ 2.17 | (Credit) |
Used | 4.43 | $ 1.50 | (DEBIT) |
Sub Total | $ 0.66 | (Credit)
Supply | $ 0.9884 | $ 0.9884 | (Debit) |
Total | $ 0.32 | Credit) |
Which equates to $0.32 cents per day credit
Or $28.80 credit to my account for the 90 day bill.
Residential Flexible Saver
KW p/day | Cost | ||
Generated | 18.06 | $ 0.90 | (Credit) |
Used | 4.43 | $ 1.46 | (DEBIT) |
Sub Total | -$ 0.56 | (Debit)
Supply | $ 0.9389 | $ 0.9389 | (Debit) |
Total | $ 1.50 | (Debit) |
Which equates to $1.50 cents per day debit
Or $134.76 debit to my account for the 90 day bill.
I have a low usage rate and a fairly high solar output.
AS I HAVE SUGGESTED,
GET YOUR LAST THREE BILLS AND WORK OUT YOUR DAILY COSTS USING THE RATES ABOVE.
(These are the current rates).
DON'T FORGET TO INCLUDE YOUR CONTROLLED LOAD IF YOU HAVE IT.
We have a Heat Pump hot water service and it only heats from 10:30 to 17:00 during the day using power generated by our solar system (this generally consumes around 4kW of our solar generation.
In the link you provided there is another link that takes you TARIFFS.

Thanks you so much Neil. I will think about the plan and supplier again then I will do the decision. You know what makes me confused is that their new offers are not to attract more users. We all hope more and more people to install solar system then we can cut down the carbon emissions together. So sad. Cheers.
Thanks for at least replying.
I am not an AGL employee and I did ask you to click some buttons, but you didn't.
AGL like any business, will tell you the legal bit that your prices are changing.
It is then up to to you to decide what you wish to do about the change.
You should be looking at your Electricity / Gas prices all the time and change to get the best prices for your Electricity / Gas prices.
If you look at the adverts on TV you will see companies (such as Compare the Market, Meerkats) but they only advertise companies that pay for them to show their prices.
There is an Aust Government Website that shows you all the current prices for Electricity and GAS in Australia.
I suggest that you look at the whole market.
I used to to do IT support for Aged People and I can tell you that I gave up because when I talked about Electricity / Gas they said I have been with XXXXXXX company for XXX years and have never had a problem with them and wouldn't change.
Good luck, at least you actually addressed me, but you still hid yourself.
Bye
