Monthly electricity bill 3 times higher than same time last year.

Hi, my current electricity bill for the month is 3 times higher than the same time last year i.e. was approx $300 now $900 and approximately 2.5 times higher than the previous month.

The reading is not an estimate as we have remote meter and I cant accept that any appliance  would create this kind of discrepancy.

How do we deal with this?

Hi @AA1 a good place to start is to run through the possibilities here: My bill seems higher than usual, what should I do?

 

Checking your usage patterns in My Account or the AGL Energy app can help to understand whether you're using significantly more electricity. 

 

It can also help to get in touch with customer support to make sure you're on the best available plan.

I've done all of these things.

AGL need to act now and do their due diligence. i.e. check the meter
