Yeah good point but unfortunately it’s the cost passed on from your DNSP to your retailer for the poles and wires infrastructure so regardless of import or export it’s a cost we all have to share to have access to grid supply.

What type of hot water service do you have and if it’s electric then you maybe able to put it on an off peak charge time of use to heat it? This would incur the cost of the timer installation at roughly $300 - $400 so obviously would take a long time to pay back the savings but this might explain things? Also if it’s your own property or not and can you look at solar or a heat pump? That amount for your bill is probably not worth doing too much and in line with the current cost of power now that ...

Yes that’s easy your NMI (national metering number) is shown in the top right hand corner of your existing account bill and also you can access it inside your main switch board as it’s written on your meter or should be.Any additional information an be provided by your current service provider if you get stuck?cheers
