Re: solar feed in tarff prices

the rate varies depending on your location, I am getting 12cents on the Yorke peninsula SA at my shack, but also you need to continually be checking the rates and re-sign up to keep the max rate, if you go 12 months then they revert you back to the minimum.in the past when I had a shop I would have to change provider to get them to call me back and offer abetter rate for me not to change. at my home I am completely off grid as I am over 2.5 km from a power line and they wanted me to pay $250,000 ...

Re: solar feed in tarff prices

Hi Neil, the Math's of it is not my problem, just disappointed that 20 days use outstrips 95 days of generation and if I had used it for 95 days the bill would have been $750 - $175 = $575 guess I am spoilt by being off the grid in Ceduna. Could be worse when I was in Darwin in 1979 if people had their own generators they had to be wired in before the meters, so you paid them for the power you generated from your own generator.

Re: solar feed in tarff prices

,as you can see below the meter reads over the 90 days, however with the usage we were only there for 20 days of the 90 and the other 70 days all breakers are switched off except the mains switch which means all solar power generated goes back into the grid.Obviously there is a difference between the winter months than the summer months. My main question is if we are using less power during the day than the system generates is that power free to us and not charged and the excess ...

Re: solar feed in tarff prices

from my bill i get 16c but pay 36 cents and what I see is they measure the energy used and charge at the 36 cents then deduct anything you generate, so if during the day I generate 5kw and use 5kw they will pay me 80 cents but charge me $1.80. even though all the power used was generated from my solar panels. (also add the 80 cents a day supply charge) The only way to get to use the power you generate and not be charged for the your own power is to go off-grid. Using batteries at night sounds go ...
