"Better FITs" ?

Not really in most states / regions, especially since the last FIT drops July 1st (and double whammy with tariff increases).

You can still get the solar savers type plan with 10c / kwh for first 10kwh, think it's then 2c or 3c depending on location . . . which would be looking pretty good to many solar only homeowners now.

Especially with having FITs lowered to 2c here in SA, and I think Victoria too.

Self consumption is where the real savings have been in solar only, for perhaps around the past 18 months to 2 years.

If one can't do that by using power during the day, directly or by timers on appliances / power points, then you are virtually being forced into a home battery.

Otherwise your solar is mostly just being sent to the grid and retailers, for them to gain from your solar benefit.

Better with a battery then so you can charge up during solar hours and use that during the evening / early morning, but that's like another solar $ type of investment.
