Smart metre installed but not reflected to Bill

We already have "Smart metre" but AGL has been billing us based on estimates. (Both start metre read and end read are estimates.)

I want to submit my metre reading but AGL does not accept it because of the "Smart metre".

How can I submit the metre reading?

Hi @tuchida

Thank you for your post, I have removed the image as it contains personal information.

The meter you have, while a smart meter sill requires a meter reader from the distributer to collect the information. This is because the meter is a Manually Read Interval Meter (MRIM).

This is why you would have received an estimated bill, as the readers will still come during their scheduled quarterly reads. So, if you are on monthly bills, you'll get estimates until we get the data.

What we could do is change your billing frequency to match the quarterly reads or look at upgrading the meter to a smart meter that will remotely send the data through.

Thanks, Chris

Thank you for the response.

Where can I find the prior quarterly meter reading so that I can roughly estimate the actual consumption for this quarter?

Hi @tuchida

You'll be able look at your previous bills to find the meter reads or estimated reads. These are located on the thirs page under the heading Meter Details.

We do have our web page on how to read your meter, which does give an example bill and where to look for this.

Thanks, Chris

Thank you for your response.

I do not see any actual metre reading in my past 3 AGL bills.

Could you please tell me where to find the start meter reading for Feb 2026 when AGL first started the energy supply?

Without the start metre reading, how are you going to adjust the energy charge?

March bill stated that the "next meter read is due between 12 Mar 26 and 18 Mar 26".

Where can I see the reading result from this "March reading"?
