OTHER INCOME- DR

I have been charged $60.18 for electricity on my very first bill from AGL for a house that we are building. I have read other posts related to "DR" and most of (all?) these relate to a special meter reading for when a new owner first moves into a house. If this is a special meter read I question why it is required when this house is a new build in a new estate. It seems obvious that for a new build that the initial reading is NIL (this is the case according to my bill). Why a special meter read is required seems unnecessary. Can this charge be explained to me?

Hi Robg, based on the cost this is the new connection charge in the Ausgrid region. You can see the summary of our charges by using our "fees are charges" tool here, if you need any further assistance with this please get in touch with the team directly here.
