Gas Estimate

Our gas meter was supposedly estimated on 19 June. The meter is outdoors and is where it has been for the past 43 years. Our gates are not locked and we don't have a dog. Why wasn't it read?

Just to help us look into this further, could you please confirm if there’s any vegetation or obstruction around the meter at the property? Occasionally, when a new meter reader is appointed and the meter is surrounded by vegetation, it can be missed during the visit.

Once we have this information, we’ll be able to follow up more accurately.

The meter is quite clear of vegetation or anything else..

The remaining possible reason for the discrepancy is your billing preference. If your account is set to monthly billing, but your gas meter is only read bi-monthly or quarterly, that could explain the difference. The meter reading schedule is determined by your gas distributor, and it can vary depending on your location.
