Hi @Erlyna , we recently made changes to our Rewards system and re-launched with a limited range, but more retailers will be added in the near future so stay tuned - we know a lot of our customers love the supermarket gift cards.
Not happy with AGL rewards recently it is not helping their customers to avail the Essential everyday needs of their Customers. I have not left AGL because of rewards incentives to stay here. Why put Groceries Logo on Reward Advertising where there is no Coles , Woolworths or other Groceries for food ? You confused your Customers on your advertisement on this rewards program.
Totally agree with you and thank you for your post as initially, I thought it was only me who couldn't access the eGift cards. I have been enjoying the same benefits with AGL with the eGift cards. I was very upset when I found out they no longer offer the everyday grocery discounts with supermarkets such as Coles and Woolworths. I was upset initially when they reduced the discount from 5% to 4% and now it's totally gone, unbelievable with no warnings what so ever. I hope you are an NRMA member as they now offer Woolworths eGfit card with 4% discount, Big W egift card 5% discount and Wish eGift Card 3% discount. I think any savings is good in this economic environment. You could also consider Simply Energy but I am not sure what they are like. I am happy with NRMA roadside assistance.
Absolutely agree! I discovered this only today when I went to buy some more wish cards. Now there's even less reason to stay with AGL.
And I agree with you completely, mercadorosalie6; what is the point of a "Food and Grocery" category without anything to do with groceries?! Unbelievable....
And to AGL, if there are "more offers coming", then they should have been put in place BEFORE the change, WITH advance notice to customers. To eliminate all the rewards and then "maybe" start adding some more at some indefinite time just indicates how much you care for your customers.
HI Ricky_H, We made the changes to our Rewards program and re-launched with a limited range on the 1 Dec 2020. More retailers will be added in the near future so stay tuned - we do not have a set date for this yet
I have been contacted by other energy companies which are offering better price but I declined because I was getting equivalent benefits from the 5% (or the not so good 4%) gift cards and didn’t want to go through the hassle in switching. Now that this is gone, I will consider switching to cheaper energy providers.
If you have some connection with SunCorp (brands aami, gio, bingle, apia,...) they have woolies cards (supermarket and petrol seem to be separate now, but either is available) for 3% off. A discount of 3% is at the point that it's hardly worth the trouble, but just letting people know.
Found them for 4% discount somewhere else (can't remember where, now) but there was a 1% CC surcharge (the only method available for purchase)! At least Suncorp doesn't charge a surcharge.
Suncorp also has 5% discounted JB cards which we also used to be able to get through AGL.
Im with AGL for many years. But If the grocery gift card doesn’t come back, what’s the point of staying AGL! There are lots of cheaper energy companies!
I'm pleased to announce that we've now refreshed AGL Rewards with new offers, including the popular grocery discounts at Coles and Woolworths. Thanks for your feedback, and your patience as we brought these offers out.
We have made these changes to simplify the AGL Rewards experience while also helping customers continue saving on energy and everyday expenses through Peak Energy Rewards and the BP Fuel Offer.
If you have a gift card that you purchased through AGL Rewards, you’ll still be able to access it on a new webpage by following these steps:
Head to website link which can be found at the bottom of the AGL Rewards webpage
Log in using the same email address you were previously using to access your gift card/s
You’ll need to reset your password because the link to access your gift card/s has changed
You’ll then have access to the new platform, where you’ll be able to access previously redeemed gift cards as well as the ones that you’ve got a balance on.
My query was in seeking an understanding of there were cistomer communications about the changes in the AGL Rewards program. Unfortunately, I didn't get the information I was looking for. All I received was information about the new BP and EV charging offers, which aren't relevant to me as a customer. I would really appreciate it if you could provide clarity on the updates to the Rewards program instead, thank you
Unfortunately, gift cards and lifestyle products are no longer available through our rewards program. We understand this might be disappointing, especially if you’ve previously enjoyed those options.
To explore the current range of offers and discounts available, please feel free to visit our Rewards Program page at the link below:
