I have been connected to AGL/NBN/ Aussie Broadband for 6 weeks now. During that time I have had 2 long sessions with Tech Support, having waited about 30 mins to get connected with a person.
The continuing problems have been - poor speed for 1 TV and 1 PC ? ( upgraded from 50 to 100 MBPs after 3 weeks) ; High latency compared with previous Telstra service; short drop outs on TV and PC 10- 20 times per day.
The tech support people seem competent and we have reset the modem, run configuration tests, changed cables to no avail.
Thanks for explaining what’s been happening. I appreciate how frustrating it would be to continue experiencing slow speeds, higher latency and frequent drop-outs after upgrading your plan and spending significant time troubleshooting with Tech Support.
As you’ve already tried resetting the modem, configuration checks and changing cables, the next useful step is to compare your Wi-Fi performance with a direct Ethernet connection. AGL’s internet troubleshooting guide also covers checking for outages, testing speeds and what to do if the results don’t match your plan.
